A maintenance team at the Sirte Oil and Gas Company managed Wednesday to contain the spill of oil at the area 110 km in southern Brega district after almost one-week effort.

Six prisoners in Al-Khumus were injured due to gunshots fired at the car on which they were being transferred on Tuesday near the city’s Public Prosecution office. Sources said amongst the prisoners there were central security department personnel who are accused of killing a person last Saturday when they were firing at a truck on the coastal road near Sooq Al-Kahmis district.

Unidentified persons stole equipment from the Sabha Civil Aviation Authority including a spare power generator and an electricity cable near the administration office. The Head of the Civil Aviation Authority in Sabha, Masoud Abu Al-Asad, said the thieves entered the building and started vandalizing it, saying it is not the first time.
