Afriqiyah Airways launched on Sunday its first flight to Antalya, Turkey with some of the company’s officials along with the passengers on board. Two flights a week have been scheduled for this new destination.

The flight was met with a warm reception by Antalya airport officials, who promise to provide Afriqiyah Airways all necessary services to facilitate things for travelers between Libya and Turkey.

Afriqiyah Airways was using Istanbul as a sole destination for flights from Libya to Turkey before this new airline was launched.

Last week, it resumed flights to the Libyan southern city of Sabha via Tamanhint airport, in an effort to enhance its services amidst the deteriorating security situations in the south.
