The UN Special Adviser on Libya Stephani Williams held an online meeting on Monday with a group of political representatives to talk about the political stalemate in the country.

The politicians joining the meeting briefed the UN Rep. on their proposals to unlock the political impasse, raise the voices of the silent majority and rejuvenate the political process in Libya, according to a tweet by Williams.

Meanwhile, Williams highlighted her efforts to bring together the High Council of State (HCS) and the east-based House of Representatives (HoR) to agree on a constitutional basis that would lead to holding fair and inclusive elections.

She said the discussions are part of her public outreach to a broad range of Libyan constituencies, which she launched on Sunday.

Williams lauded the party representatives on their "forward-thinking approach" to finding a comprehensive, Libyan-made solution and emphasized the crucial role of the political parties in the present circumstances.
