The UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame has stated that the dialogue delegations of the House of Representatives (HoR) and High Council of State (HCS) have found it mandatory for them to review the dialogue results with the other members in Tobruk and Tripoli before they state their final take on the conflicting points.

Salame also told the press on the sidelines of his meetings on Tuesday in Tripoli that Tunisia-hosted talks were not a dialogue as any dialogue has its own rules and agenda, adding that one must select all those needed to be present at the dialogue to be representatives of all Libyan components.

"What we did in Tunis is creating a joint drafting commission from the HoR and the HCS so that they can reach a consensus on amendments before they are adopted in the political agreement." He explained.

Salame also expressed happiness as it is "the first time after years of conflicts that there is a join commission as per the agreement," saying it is a first and it will be good for the future as many points in the agreement urge the parties for talks.

Salame arrived in Tripoli on Tuesday to hold several meetings, according to the UNSMIL's Twitter page, which also said that he met with Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala, Planning Minister Al-Taher Al-Jahimi, and then the Head of the HCS Abdelrahman Al-Sweihli.
