The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj has discussed the preparations for the National Conference with the Head of the UNSMIL Ghassan Salame, and his deputy Stephanie Williams in Tripoli.

The UNSMIL-proposed National Conference is set to take place in January 2019.

The meeting also discussed holding elections in Liby in line with the conference so that by next spring a president and a parliament are elected in the country after approving the constitutional basis.

The media office of the Presidential Council also reported that the meeting discussed coordination between the security arrangements committee and the UNSMIL.

Salame also met with the Head of the High Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri and the planning minister of the PC government Al-Taher Al-Jihami to discuss the attendees of the National Conference.

The HCS said the meeting reviewed the names possibly to take part in the conference and he results of the UNSMIL visits to 77 cities and districts in Libya paving the way to the conference.

Meanwhile, the National Conference organizers issued their final statement in which they included 10 points of discussions for the upcoming event.
