The civil societies, mayors, and officials as well as elders of the southern region have issued a statement denouncing the arbitrary and inhumane kidnap of two delegates who were scheduled to fly to Rome from Mitiga airport.

"If the two delegates are not resealed in Tripoli, we will block the water supplies of the Man-Made River to Tripoli and we will form new separate government to govern the southern region." Southerns protesting the kidnap announced Thursday.

The statement of the southern officials said the two delegates, Ahmed Tete and Abdullah Awhida, were abducted from Haroon Hotel in Tripoli on last Tuesday and then taken to an unknown destination, adding that this happened in utter silence by the UN-proposed government's officials despite knowing of the abduction once it took place.

The statement gave the officials and the UNSMIL, as well as the international organizations 24 hours to release the kidnapped delegates, or else the repercussions will be beyond aggressive.

The southerners also called on the Presidential Council to speak in public and give details about the abduction of the delegates and other southerners in Tripoli, demanding an apology after the release.

Mitiga airport security in Tripoli prevented Wednesday a southern delegation of elders, dignitaries and ministers from traveling to Rome.
