The Presidential Council (PC) has named new ministers for the Interior, Economy, Finance and Youth and Sport ministries.

The decision signed by Fayez Al-Sirraj on Sunday named Fathi Bashagha for the Interior Ministry in the place of Abdelsalam Ashour, Ali Al-Essawi for Economy Ministry in the place of Fadllalah Al-Dressi, Faraj Bumatari for Ministry of Finance replacing Osama Hammad and Bashir Al-Gantri for Youth and Sport Ministry replacing Ziyad Grirah.

Al-Essawi, new economy minister, was in the same position during Gaddafi's reign and was the first foreign minister in the Libyan Transitional Council after February 17 revolution in 2011.

Bashagha, the new interior minister, is one of Misrata revolutionary leaders in 2011 and has been a boycotting member of the House of Representatives in Tobruk since its election in 2014.

The new reshuffling measures come after weeks of clashes in Tripoli that left scores dead and injured and displaced tens of families in southern Tripoli areas.

The measures also comply with the UNMSIL-brokered ceasefire agreement that obliges Al-Sirraj government to enhance security and economic conditions in the country with a package of necessary reforms, occluding dissolving militias and supporting police and army formations.

On the economic level, the PC also approved new customs tariffs on imported goods via letters of credit, not to mention the fees on foreign currency purchases.

Likewise, Al-Sirraj approved the security arrangements in Tripoli and all across the country, which according to the capital's security directorate have begun to take effect, after meeting with several security arrangements committee officials.
