A delegation from the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) headed by the Speaker-designate, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, visited Turkey on Wednesday and met with Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara after meeting with the Libyan-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Turkish Parliament.

Turkish presidency said Erdogan received the delegation headed by Al-Nuwairi in Ankara, while after the meeting, Al-Nuwairi told reporters that they were thrilled to be in Turkey to consolidate the bilateral relations, adding that the HoR is carrying out its first presidency-level visit to Turkey.

The Head of the Libyan-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ahmet Yıldız, thanked the Libyan delegation for the visit that comes amid a busy Libyan agenda given the preparation for elections. He said Turkey will always support Libya at all international circles.

Yıldız said Turkey is looking forward to developing bilateral relations with Libya and for seeing Libyans successful in the political process, referring to the kidnapping of Turkish nationals in eastern Libya and then their release, which he said made Turkish people happy, hoping that such an unfortunate incident wouldn't be repeated.
