The newly blueprinted constitution draft, which was devised on April 16 by the accord committee of the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) has been rebuffed by the Libyan civil movement "Citizenship is my right and I won't relinquish it."

"The new draft has established more grounds for "shares" among certain Libyans and also for discrimination and thus has proved to be against the rights to citizenship, which we advocate for." The movement indicated.

In a statement on Sunday, the movement hailed the progress of the constitutional drafting process that has been made by all parties, welcoming the rejection of the previous draft, which was in fact annulled by a court ruling.

"The new accord committee that was formed on March 12 has emphasized the discrimination among Libyans even more." It added.

"We will keep on working on regaining the rights of citizenship for every single Libyan national, we will take to the streets, communicate with social components and do whatever it takes to bring about a social concord that will be based on equal rights of citizenship." The movement added.

The CDA's accord committee announced last week a new draft that it described as comprehensive and said it would resolve the points of conflict of the previous constitution draft, setting May 07 as a date for voting on it inside the CDA in Al-Bayda, eastern Libya.
