The spokesman for The Kremlin said the Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and discussed the conflicts in Libya and Syria, Russia Today reported, citing Novosti agency.

The spokesman said Erdogan and Putin talked about ways to end the crisis in Libya and expressed concerns over fighting on the outskirts of Tripoli, stressing that a ceasefire is going to pave the way for a return to the political process between conflict parties.

Erdogan said earlier that he would talk to Putin about the conflict in Libya and try and convince him to stop supporting Khalifa Haftar.

Meanwhile, the Turkish envoy to Libya Emrullah Işler told Libya Al-Ahrar TV Channel on Thursday that Putin will visit Turkey on January 08 to review different issues, including Libya's crisis.
