About 400 prisoners escaped the prison of The Reform and Rehabilitation Institution of Ein Zara, the judicial police confirmed on Facebook Sunday.

The judicial police Information Office explained that the escape was made following a state of panic and fear that broke out in the prison after hearing the sounds of clashes that were taking place in the area of Ein Zara prison (A).

Prisoners broke down the doors of the cells, however, the prison guards chose not to clash with prisoners in fear of a mass massacre.

The judicial police denied the news circulated regarding that the escape was from the prison (B) of Ein Zara, known as the prison of Ruwaymia, which includes prisoners affiliated to the former regime, ensuring that the situation there is under control.

It also pointed out that a validation process is being conducted to confirm the number of escaped prisoners, insisting that the judicial police is operating away from any political or ideological orientation.
