The Minister of Interior in the Salvation Government, Mohammed Al-Burghathi, held talks in Tripoli Saturday with a French delegation headed by lawmaker, Jean-Frédéric Poisson.

In the presence of the Deputy Head of the Illegal Immigration Fight Authority (IIFA), Colonel Mohammed Abu Braida, both sides discussed different issues of joint concern including the illegal immigration phenomenon and the needed mutual coordination that could confine this growing problem.

Minister Al-Burghathi reassured the French delegate that the immigrants are being provided with healthcare and humanitarian services despite Libya’s current crisis.

The Head of the Protocol Bureau, Abdulrazzak Al-Shnaiti, told Libyan News Agency (LANA) that the French delegate paid a check-up visit to the immigrants’ shelter centers in Al-Qaraboulli and Abu Salim in Tripoli, where he had a look at the humanitarian and other services given to them by the IIFA.

Meanwhile, a meeting held in the IIFA’s headquarters, Tripoli by Minister of the Interior Mohammed Al-Burghathi together with Colonel Mohammed Abu Braida and the Head of the International Medical Agency in Libya, Claudio Donaldoni. The meeting reviewed ways of coordinating efforts to improve the immigrants’ conditions in the shelter centers by providing them with physical and psychological assistance as well as the needed medications.
