The High Council of State (HCS) agreed on Monday with preconditions to the proposal of House of Representatives (HoR) to restructure the Presidential Council (PC) to three members only and unify state institutions.

In its ordinary meeting in Tripoli, the HCS requested that the selection of the three members of Presidential Council be done by absolute majority in both sides (HCS-HoR), and that both sides choose three members representing Libya’s three regions before being voted by the absolute majority.

The three winners then choose a chairman for the PC, and after a week they pick a prime minister for the government.

The High Council of State also demanded the House of Representatives to include the Libyan Political Agreement within the constitutional declaration.

Earlier, the House of Representatives proposed that the Presidential Council be restructured to only three members representing Tripoli, Fezzan and Cyrenaica.
