GNC won't attend Morocco dialogue unless amendments considered

The GNC required on Tuesday its proposed amendments on the fourth draft be included in the fifth one before its team flies to Skhirat, Morocco to sign the final one. 70 members out of 80 voted in favor.

In a press conference following GNC meeting, spokesperson Omer Hamidan said the congress is committed to adhere to the dialogue to reach a compromise that should get approval of both sides.

Among the proposed amendments the GNC demanding are respect for the Supreme Court ruling, respect for principals of the 17 February revolution and respect for the Islamic law.

Hamidan called the UNSMIL to include the GNC amendments within the draft before the GNC dialogue team can go to Morocco for the dialogue. He also called the UNSMIL to fix a meeting to discuss these amendments before signing the draft.

Meanwhile, protesters gathered outside the GNC to express rejection to the UNSMIL draft, demanding the GNC team not to go for the dialogue in Morocco.
