The Head of the Egyptian National Committee on Libyan Affairs, Ayman Badie, has reaffirmed Egypt's keenness to support the Libyan people to achieve stability and peace.

Speaking at the opening session of the Cairo meeting, Badie welcomed the representatives of the Libyan House of Representatives and High Council of State and said Egyptian President Al-Sisi welcomed them to Cairo for the constitutional talks, Asharq Al-Awsat reported.

The meeting of the two chambers started in Cairo on Wednesday ti tackle the constitutional process in the presence of the UN Advisor, Stephanie Williams.

Williams stressed at the meeting that the Cairo consultations are an opportunity for the two chambers to move forward regarding the constitutional track of Libya’s elections, voicing her aspiration to work with them to reach a clear consensual track to restore the electoral process in order to meet the aspirations of the 2.8 million Libyans who registered to vote.
