Tripoli Appeals Court's administrative division ruled Wednesday to block (MoU) signed between Libya and Italy to fight the growing influx of illegal immigrants and the issue of human trafficking as well as to help Libya secure its southern borders.

"The MoU will be blocked urgently until the lawsuit is tackled in full." The court ruling stated.

It also ruled to proceed with the lawsuit that was lodged in the court in February by Libyan citizens.

, including lawyer Azza Al-Maqhoor and former Justice Minister, Salah Al-Marghani, filed a lawsuit in mid-February against the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj, together with Foreign, Interior and Defense Minister-designates for signing an MoU with Italy in early February.

The lawsuit was based on the logic that Al-Sirraj does not have the authority he claims and that the MoU has turned Libya to a center for the illegal immigration issue, which will mean that thousands of immigrants will be detained in Libya inside centers to be built by Italy.
