Fresh clashes broke out in Sirte on Sunday after days of calm to eradicate the remaining ISIS militants from the city.

Backed by heavy artillery, Misrata-led forces advanced deep in the radicals' last hideouts in some parts of residential area 3, 600 neighborhood and sea-view Jiza apartment buildings, and gained new strategic positions.

Two ISIS car bombs were detonated before reaching Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos forces, reports say.

"Our forces have taken full control of Social Security HQ, an ISIS field hospital, Fateh School, Grand Mosque, and ISIS workshop for manufacturing explosives," the Media Office of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos has announced.

Meanwhile, Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos command has confirmed the killing of ISIS senior leaders Hassan Al-Kirrami and Walid Al-Furjani, both are Libyans, in recent clashes in residential area 3.
