The Algerian Foreign Minister, Sabri Boukadoum, arrived in Al-Rajma, near the eastern city of Benghazi - on Wednesday and met with Khalifa Haftar to discuss the ongoing conflict in Libya.

The Algerian Foreign Minister and Haftar discussed bilateral relations and Algeria's role in supporting Libya's stability and the joint efforts to combat crime and terrorism, Haftar forces' media office said.

The visit comes days after Algeria and Tunisia have said they are devising an initiative to strike peace among the warring parties in Libya.

In a meeting for Algerian and Tunisian Presidents on February 02, they said their countries were ready to help gather Libyans for a solution to the conflict and then help them go to elections, saying the initiative needs the consent of the international stakeholders which are manipulating the decision in Libya - UN or EU member states.

Meanwhile on January 19, during Berlin conference, Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune said his country was ready to host the dialogue between the Libyan warrinf parties in order to reach a solution.
