Second Deputy President of the General National Congress Saleh Al-Makhzoum has refuted the news reported by the Algerian newspaper of Al-Shurooq that claimed he was involved in a Moroccan intelligence work against Algeria.

Al-Makhzoum indicated that Al-Shurooq’s reliance on a fabricated document posted on Facebook pages is totally strange and unacceptable, knowing that the document was totally far from truth.

He confirmed that he had already started a lawsuit against Al-Shurooq newspaper calling on Algerian authorities to offer clarifications about the issue.

“One reason behind such falsification is that there are some parties that want to create problems between Morocco and Algeria so that they perplex the Arab Maghreb scene, especially that those parties are connected to the Libyan crisis in many ways.” Al-Makhzoum explained.

He added that he is certain that the Algerian authorities will investigate more profoundly into the newspaper’s claim because what could happen to Algeria would absolutely affect Libya’s stability and security in return, concluding by saying that Algeria is a neighboring country and is against any foreign intervention in Libya.

Al-Shurooq newspaper published on August 29 what it described a highly confidential document about a Moroccan Intelligence plot to carry out sabotage acts in Algeria with the help of Libyan agents including Saleh Al-Makhzoum and Abdul-Majid Ghait Al-Nasir, former NTC member.
