Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous Force condemned the armed clashes that broke out in the capital Tripoli, calling on all parties to show restraint and to take no measures to escalate the situation.
In a statement Tuesday, Al Bunyan Force insisted that the capital will always be open for all Libyans, underlining that the solution to the Libyan problem must be achieved through dialogue and negotiations.
"We bear all decision makers and political and security bodies the responsibility for the safety and security of all civilians and property, " the statement read, affirming that it welcomes any solution to heal the internal division among Libyans.
It also called on the Presidential Council (PC) to assume its responsibilities and take urgent measure, in order to address the deteriorating security situation, stressing that it will stand firm in front of any attempts to jeopardize the security of citizens and of the country.
Clashes erupted Sunday in the southeast of Tripoli between forces affiliated to the Presidential Council, leaving 5 people dead and 33 injured, according to the Health Ministry of the PC.
