A woman can marry four husbands at one time, a Libyan journalist and manager of UAE-funded 218 TV, Huda Al-Sarari, believes.

Demanding equal rights to women as men in a TV show, Al-Sarari said “there is nothing forbids a woman from practicing polyandry.”

“What are the reasons that prevent women from practicing polyandry? Give me one reason?” She argued with other girls in the show.

When the presenter asked her about the biological father of the woman’s children, she answered that a DNA test can identify the lineage of the children.

Her odd remarks have sparked mockery on social media platforms. They also go against the civil status law of Islam, which forbids women, unlike men, to take more than one husband at the same time.

Polyandry is practiced in India, Nepal, Tibet and some regions of China. Polyandrous behavior is also widespread in the animal life.
