Zuwara Security Directorate has managed to rescue 44 illegal immigrants, including four women and a child, off the coast of the city after their rubber boat deflated in the middle of the sea on Friday.

The Directorate clarified via Facebook yesterday that the rescue operation was carried out in cooperation with the Coast Guard of Zuwara, noting that the migrants were disembarked at the city's port and were provided with the necessary assistance.

The rescued people were of different African nationalities, including Libyans, as well as migrants from Tunisia, Morocco, and Sudan, according to Zuwara Directorate.
