The Mayor of Zliten, Muftah Hammadi, has launched a campaign to renovate historic buildings in the municipality under a project with the slogan “a city without historical buildings is a city without a past.”
Hammadi and a team of specialists in ancient architecture visited the historic buildings in the city to start the project and restore a number of buildings and facilities using old fashioned techniques.
The buildings included the almtasrpia and the Ottoman kushla building as well as the Italian municipality, old museum, municipality Mosque, court building and the reconstruction of the gardens overlooking these buildings.
