The World Health Organization (WHO) in Libya said it had provided emergency assistance to more than 5,000 patients in the city of Derna.

"The aid, which includes a three-month supply, comes in response to the urgent request received from Derna Hospital," the WHO clarified via Twitter on Wednesday.

It further noted that the German government played an important role in ensuring the delivery of these supplies to the city.

The city of Derna has suffered from difficult humanitarian conditions and serious violations since Haftar's forces seized the city last year.
