In a statement issued yesterday, Janzur Municipal Council called on both the Ministries of Interior and Defense, to shoulder their responsibilities and abide by their promises to secure the coastal road.
The UN proposed government is fully responsible for the security violations that occur on the road, as well as the attack on a security patrol last Thursday which resulted in the death of one officer and injury of another, the statement reads.
According to the statement, it was declared that the consequences of these reoccurring security breaches may eventually lead to the road being reclosed.
