The acting head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Stephanie Williams, has confirmed that the Libyan political agreement, along with all issues deriving from it, remains the only internationally recognized governance in Libya.
Williams added in a telephone conversation with the President of the Presidential Council (PC) Fayaz Al-Sarraj, that any change in the political arena can only take place through democratic means.
This comes in response to Haftar’s announcement to dismiss the political settlement and his desperate attempt to position himself as ruler over Libya.
