The air valve of the Man-Made River control station in the Airport Road of Tripoli was subjected to sabotage, which led to a water leak, the Man-Made River Authority (MMRA) stated.

Spokesman of the MMRA Tawfiq Al-Shuhaidi clarified in a press statement Saturday that the control room of Jufra Al-Hasawna water system was forced to reduce the pressure on the station, is the city's main water feeder, to enable the maintenance team to control the leakage in order to repump water back to the capital.

In a similar incident, the water station No. 26 in the city of Gharyan was attacked by an unidentified group last Thursday, which led to the loss of large quantities of water and the halt of water flow to Buzayan reservoir, until the plant is maintained, according to the director of Al-Hasawna water system in Gharyan region Ali Habashi.
