The spokesman of the Municipal Council of Sirte, Mohammed Al-Amil, said Wednesday that UNICEF had completed maintenance work on 13 schools in the city.

Al-Amil said in a press statement that the maintenance work was devoted to the rehabilitation of toilets in the schools, which lasted for approximately a month and a half, stressing that most of these schools were on the outskirts of the city of Sirte.

The Special Representative of UNICEF in Libya, Abdul Rahman Ghandour, said on Tuesday that UNICEF is seeking 20 million dollars to help expand the response to urgent assistance for children within Libya.
