UNHCR confirmed the repatriation of 133 refugees from Libya to Niger in coordination with the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in Tripoli.

UNHCR explained in a statement Saturday that the newly opened gathering and departure centre is the first of its kind in Libya and aims to host vulnerable migrants and provide them with their needs.

The centre will also be committed to complete the migrants' resettlement procedures outside Libya or to return them to their countries of origin, UNHCR added, noting that the centre is under the supervision of the Libyan Interior Ministry.
