The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said that the city of Benghazi is hosting more than 27,000 displaced people, most of whom face difficulties in obtaining safe shelter.

UNHCR clarified in its report that many of the displaced in urban areas are at risk of war remnants, confirming the presence of 230 displaced families from Tawergha in the camp of Gar Younis since 2018.

The UNHCR confirmed that the Libyan Coast Guard has saved more than 850 irregular migrants in seven operations since the beginning of 2019, noting that the number of rescue operations has fallen sharply compared to previous years.
