The UN Development Program (UNDP) and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have confirmed that they will support 24 municipalities in Libya as part of the Recovery, Stability and Socio-economic Development Program, formulated jointly by the European Commission and Italy.

"The 50-million-euro program will enhance access of citizens to health, education, water, sanitation and social services," the UNDP and UNICEF explained.

The two organizations noted that more than 670 thousand citizens in Libya need humanitarian assistance in the field of water and sanitation, pointing out that the crisis experienced by the country has affected about 267 thousand students and damaged 489 schools.
