UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame said Friday that Libyan municipalities should have an essential role in the country, adding that the local governing is a very effective way to end division in Libya, according to UNSMIL’s website.

Salame said in a meeting with municipal and university representatives that he is working on a plan that could see the training of the municipal staffers in EU countries.

He also said that focusing on Libyan people “all people” is vital “not only the politicians” will be helpful in Libya.
