Tunisian Minister of Transport Moez Chakchouq has expressed his ministry's willingness to facilitate the opening of a passenger and cargo maritime line between the ports of Misurata, Sfax, and Goulette (Halq al-Wadi) in coordination with the Tunisian Interior Minister and customs services.

"We will start operating Goulette- Zarzis line as a first step before extending the route to Sfax after equipping the port's facilities to meet the transporting needs," Chakchouk said during a meeting Friday with the Executive Chairman of the Libyan-Tunisian Economic Cooperation Council, Saber Bougherra.

He emphasized that sea cargo between Tunisia and Libya is developing well with three regular shipping lines between both countries' ports to deliver foodstuffs and others.

For his part, the CEO of the Libyan-Tunisian Economic Cooperation Council, indicated that construction work at the Misrata marine station has ended, stressing Libya's desire to open a maritime line to Tunisia from Misrata.
