Sources in the border area between Libya and Tunisia have said that traffic returned to normal at the Ras Ajdair border crossing and the road between the crossing and the border town of Ben Gardane has been reopened after being closed by protesters from the town demanding easing of what they called restrictions imposed by Libyan authorities on the transport of goods From Libya to Tunisia.

In addition, the protestors demanded the establishment of development projects for their region. The protest caused the blocking of the road, which resulted in lines of Libyan passenger cars being held up for several hours before the road was eventually reopened.
