Tripoli Centre Municipality said Sunday it had collected approximately 1374 tons of trash during the past four days, despite the continued closure of Sidi Al-Sayah and Abu Salim landfills.

"The garbage clean-up included areas of the old city, Belkhir, Fashloum, and the city centre," the municipality explained on Facebook.

It also expressed concern that the amount of piled trash in the streets is increasing day by day, due to the garbage brought in to the municipality from other areas.

Tripoli Centre Municipality is struggling to overcome its rubbish crisis since the beginning of Haftar's aggression on the capital, due to the closure of the main landfill in Sidi al-Sayah in south Tripoli because of the clashes.
