The Head of the Libyan Audit Bureau, Khalid Shakshak, said the Head of the Libyan Media Institution Mohammed Baeyo, who is suspended by the bureau, had abused his position and embezzled public funds.

Shakshak told the Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, in a letter that Baeyo transferred money from a bank account of the media institution to Media Dialogue Institution, which is owned by his son, adding that the funds were transferred from the institution to his private bank accounts.

Shakshak reiterated the need to remove Baeyo from his position and disallow him from assuming any future post related to public funds, urging Dbeibah to grant the Audit Bureau access to revise the bank accounts of the Libyan Media Institution as Baeyo refused to do so before.
