Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, has stated that they are closely monitoring the Libyan situation, after the House of Representatives assigned Fathi Pashaga as a new Prime Minister, hoping that the new government will be able to unite the Libyans.

“What happened is normal and this choice must be respected for the Libyan MPs, Zakharova said in a press conference, hoping that the disagreement between the Libyans does not lead to a serious conflict.

She also called for negotiation and settling differences, which will lead to national elections.
