A group of candidates for the Libyan presidential elections called on the High National Elections Commission to issue the final list of presidential candidates and preliminary list of parliamentary candidates.
The candidates welcomed in a statement the announcement of the High National Elections Commission that January 24 is the date to start the first round of election, urging the House of Representatives and the UN Support Mission in Libya to take up their responsibilities toward the vote.
They also denounced the unjustified delay of elections and urged for respecting the deadline, rejecting any form of new transitional periods in Libya.
