The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdel Hamid Dbeibah, has pledged to solve the electricity crisis that sparked protests in the country.

"Everyone has the right to freedom of expression, but democracy has its limitations, laws and rules”, PM Dbeibah added on Monday, in a video published by Hakometna media platform, confirming the state protection for those who want to express their opinion in a peaceful manner, warning that burning of property is unacceptable.

He also stated that his government has allocated $3 billion for the maintenance of the existing power plants and the old ones that have not maintained for 40 years, as he put it, stressing that the General Electricity Company of Libya has completed maintenance by 70%.
