Deputy head of the Presidential Council (PC), Ahmed Maiteeq met with Italian Foreign Minister, Enzo Moavero Milanesi, in Rome, Tuesday. 

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the political process in Libya and emphasized support of the electoral process, the independence of institutions and the peaceful transfer of power, according to the PC's Information Office.

Maiteeq expressed his hope that the Italian government will make efforts to open the Italian consulate in Benghazi as soon as possible, in order to facilitate services delivery of movement and travelling between the two countries and to continue joint work in the file of combating illegal immigration.
