Illegal border crossings into the EU have dropped to about 800 migrants, about 87% lower than it was in October 2017, the European Union’s border agency Frontex said on Wednesday.

Frontex revealed in its latest report published by Italian Aki news agency that illegal border crossing to Europe declined to 31% during the first ten months of this year, compared with the same period in 2017.

The agency pointed out that despite the steadily dropping numbers, the number of people reaching Europe across the western Mediterranean route mainly (Morocco - Spain) has increased compared to last year because of discovering other illegal routes in other regions.
