The general director of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) Bader Addin Al-Najjar, confirmed that the polio vaccination campaign that was kick-started last week successfully had ended, saying Libya’s children are now immune against polio virus.

The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) held a meeting with the banks control administration as well as the managers of the commercial banks on last Thursday, when the CBL discussed the processes of opening of new letters of credit to import food commodities and medicines as well as the equipment needed in manufacturing and other basic materials.

The spokesman for the GECOL, Ahmed Al-Fituri, said an armed group stormed into Al-Zawiya power plant and made the workers shut down the first steam power unit that produces a capacity of 130 megawatts, thus causing the second gas turbine unit (150 megawatts) to shut down as well.  He stressed that GECOL is doing its best to lessen load-shedding hours.

Zliten municipality said it is going to build a water reservoir with the capacity of 600 m2 in Sooq Al-Thulataa area. The reservoir will alleviate the suffering caused by water shortages in the city with the recurrent water cuts from the Man-Made River project due to sabotage.

GECOL said a blackout was reported in the area from Benghazi to Tobruk due to the shutdown of the sixth unit of the northern Benghazi power plant leading to the shutdown of all other units, saying efforts to fix the problem are underway.

Hadba Prison denied the news circulated on media outlets about the presence of a Tunisian mediation to set free some of the former regime figures from the prison, saying the prison only follows the Libyan laws and judiciary.

The Ground Handling Syndicate in Libya said the Libyan Ground Handling Company workers suspended their strike in Misrata, Lebrag, Tobruk and Sabha airports, adding that flights in all those airports resumed after the workers were assured that their delayed salaries are going to be paid out.

Misrata military engineers unit exploded 155 tons of war remnants and mines that were collected from the freed areas in Sirte after the city-wide scouring works that were carried out by Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos forces, who announced Sirte liberated from IS militants lately.

The media office of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos is going to display a documentary dubbed “Al-Bunyan Operation” in which there will be a documentation of the war on IS militants since its kickoff in Sadada district last May until they finished off the radicals in the seaside Jiza neighborhood in downtown Sirte.
