The youth and civil society movement of Tuareg in Sabha held a protest on Saturday demanding their electoral rights and participation in the upcoming elections. The protesters explained via a statement that they were unable to register on the electoral roll for not owning a national ID number. They explained that they have administrative numbers that do not entitle them to register in the voter register, which they deemed as a gross violation of their political rights. The protesters called on all Libyan authorities, executive and legislative, to rapidly complete their identification procedures so they can exercise their political rights.

The Media Center of the Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous Operation revealed on Saturday that the military engineering unit of Sirte security forces has succeeded in dismantling three landmines that were planted by the ISIS group in the district of Qubeiba. The media center pointed out that the assistant commander of the protection and security force of Sirte, Colonel Ali Rufaida, had held the Presidential Council responsible for the lack of logistical support to their forces who were tasked with securing the city, including the payment of dues to their officers who have continued to work diligently for a full year. In an earlier statement, Rufaida accused the Presidential Council of neglecting the follow-up treatment of the wounded and the martyrs’ families.

The Local Council of Tawergha has issued a decision to form a higher committee for the town’s returnees, headed by the chairman of the Council. The decision was based on the statement made by the Chairman of the Presidential Council on the return of the people of Tawergha on the first of February. On its Facebook page on Saturday, The Local Council of Tawergha demanded the 32 members of the committee to quickly implement the procedures of the return of citizens on time. The head of the Presidential Council, Fayaz al-Sarraj, announced last December that the beginning of February will be the date for the return of the Tawergha IDPs to their town following an agreement between representatives of the cities of Misurata and Tawergha.

The voice of people movement launched a peace march on Saturday from the Ministry of Tourism in Tripoli to Ras Ajdir border crossing with Tunisia, in coordination with the Ministry of the Interior and all security directorates in the coastal cities. The participants waved white flags as they rallied through the towns and villages along the coastal road to Ras Ajdir. They also raised banners calling to promote national reconciliation and stop the fighting between brothers. The organizers called on the Libyan state to promote coexistence and security in the community by accelerating state institutions building and to provide a new image of Libya to the world.

A data analysis released by the Ministry of Finance showed that the total deficit of revenues approved for communications and fuel in the 2017 budget reached about 869.8 million dinars. The Ministry of Finance's statement on the financial arrangements for last year indicated that the shortfall of telecommunication revenues was noted to be 40%, at $ 244.8 million dinars, while the deficit in the revenues of fuel was around 70%, or $ 625 million dollars. According to the ministry's statement, local market revenues from the sale of fuel amounted to 275 million dinars, compared to 900 million dinars approved for this item, reaching a deficit ratio of 70% or 625 million dollars.

Misrata Municipality and the Political Gathering of Misrata MPs confirmed Saturday that they are very keen on following up on the Tanzania-flagged freighter Andromeda case and the information received on the matter. In a joint statement, the two bodies clarified that the competent authorities in the city opened an investigation with the freighter's agent to provide clarifications on the shipment, the consignee, and the reason for changing its course. The statement called on the local official authorities to communicate with the countries of Turkey and Greece in order to reveal the hidden facts, and inform them of the results, in addition to hold accountable everyone who was involved in this incident. It also criticized the misuse of information by some "suspicious media" of the incident and the fact of changing its destination to Misrata.

Chief of Derna security, Yahya Al-Osta Omar, confirmed on Saturday that Dignity Operation forces besieging the city had prevented three fuel trucks from entering the city. In a press statement, Al-Osta Omar said that the trucks were forced to return to Tobruk after being stopped by pro-Dignity forces at Umm al-Rizm checkpoint, east of the city. He added that the forces obstructed the trucks on the pretext of not obtaining an entry permit from so-called Omer Mukhtar Operation Room of the Dignity Operation. Earlier, the forces besieging Derna allowed three fuel trucks to enter the city for the first time since a year and a half.

The Libyan Red Crescent, Benghazi branch, announced that it buried more than thirty-six unidentified bodies on Saturday, which were kept in the morgue refrigerator of the Benghazi Medical Centre. On its Facebook page, the Benghazi Medical Centre pointed out that the bodies were buried under the supervision of the Red Crescent in the Hawari cemetery, noting that among the buried were unidentified body parts. The management of the center has repeatedly appealed to the responsible authorities to develop solutions for the victim pile-up situation at the hospital's morgue.
