Two military personnel were killed and another wounded in an armed attack on a security gate in an area near Murzuk basin, southwest Libya, on Saturday. A security source clarified that the attack took place at a checkpoint between Badir town and Sabha. The spokesperson for the Operation Room of the Murzuk basin, Colonel Hashem Hammad, said in a press statement that one of the gunmen was killed during the attack, while three others were arrested, pointing out that the investigations are still in progress to determine the reason of the attack.

The Public Cleaning Service Company of Misrata announced a suspension of work in all its service centers as of Sunday. The spokesperson for the company, Khayri Bait Al-Mal, told local media that the temporary suspension comes in protest against the decision of the Ministry of Local Government to cut the salaries of the company's employees, which they consider to be unfair and prejudice against the workers in the public cleaning services in Libya. He added that the decision comes at a time when the company is at its top performance and success despite the circumstances the country is experiencing.

Dozens of families and friends of the kidnapped and forcibly detained persons held a protest Friday in Algeria Square in Tripoli. The protesters demanded the release of all abductees and those arrested without legal basis. They also called for the implementation of article 26 of the Libyan Political Agreement on abductees and missing persons, which obliges the signatories to the agreement to compile information on missing persons and abductees and submit them to the government.  In the same article, the agreement also commits the government to establish an independent body for missing persons within 60 days from the start of the government's exercise of authority.

The Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA), Noah Abdel-Sayed, stressed the assembly's adherence to the constitutional declaration, which is approved by the Libyan people and refusal to any attempt to circumvent or exceed its texts by any party what so ever. In a press statement, Noah said that the House of Representatives (HoR) did not respond, up to this moment, to the demands of the CDA on the need to finalize the referendum law. He further noted that the CDA addressed international bodies and political parties in Libya regarding this issue, explaining that the CDA does not have any authority over the House of Representatives. Noah confirmed that the adoption of the referendum law on the draft constitution is an important step to reached an advanced stage in resolving the Libyan crisis.

Minister of Local Government, Badad Qansu, said that preparations for the municipal council elections for Zawiya city have proceeded as planned. For his part, the head of the Central Committee for the Elections of Municipal Councils (CCEMC) clarified Saturday that the candidature for municipal council elections in Zawiya will be launched next Thursday, noting that the polling day was set in on April 28. The CCEMC announced last March its commencement to develop a new system for the voter registration in the Municipality of Zawiya, in which the process of electing the municipal council was disrupted.

The Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in Tripoli repatriated Saturday 21 illegal migrants to their countries. Through its Facebook page, the Agency clarified that 19 migrants were of Moroccan nationality, while two others were from Algeria, confirming that their return journey began from Mitiga international airport and from there to Tunis Carthage airport, then on to the airports of Mohammed V, in Casablanca and Houari Boumediene in Algeria. The Agency added that the deportation was carried out in coordination with the consulates of the two countries in Tunisia.

The General Directorate of Coast Security of the Ministry of Interior received Thursday the vessel "106" after undergoing a maintenance and repair service in Tunisia. The maintenance process was carried out in accordance with the agreement signed between Libya and Italy, in which Italy and the European Union sponsored the maintenance cost of the naval vessels to combat illegal migration and human trafficking. The training course for Coast Guard members who will be in charge of vessel "106" took place a few months ago in Italy and Tunisia. The vessel 106 will join the vessels 109 and 111 at Khums port to contribute in securing the Libyan coast from Tajoura all along to Zlitan city in the east.

The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah met Sunday with the UNSMIL's Head Ghassan Salame in Tripoli. UNSMIL said on Twitter that Salame was briefed about the challenges affecting oil production in the country, including the security of the NOC and of the oil fields. Meanwhile, force majeure has been declared since Friday by the NOC at Al-Feel oilfield that is being operated by Mellitah Oil company after it had withdrawn all the workers after protests over pay delays by the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG).
