The Grand Mufti of Libya, Sheikh Al-Sadiq Al-Gharyani has condemned the massacre of Abyar town, describing it a heinous and horrific crime. In a statement on Sunday, the Mufti said the perpetrators of the crime do not carry the burden and the sins on their own, but even those who chose to remain silent or those who provided them with shelter or support shall bear the responsibility. He added that the UAE money and Saudi Arabia intelligence work are playing part of undermining security and stability in Libya, calling for an urgent need to put an end to the crimes of barbarism, murder, injustice, aggression, bloodshed and extrajudicial killings.

The Export Development Center of the Ministry of Economy and Industry is to organize the second Libyan International Honey Festival and Exhibition next Tuesday with the participation of beekeepers from all Libyan cities. The  head of the preparatory committee for the festival, Khaled Musa, said that the festival will also host on Thursday the second forum of beekeepers at the fairground of Tripoli,  adding that citizens will have access for direct-marketing of natural honey, in addition to the participants who will have the opportunity to present various types of products.

The mountain city of Gharyan is to host the national conference for the Activation of the Independence Constitution and the return of the monarchy in Libya. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 31, and is expected to enjoy a broad participation of monarchy supporters. The Preparatory Committee held several meetings Saturday in the city to prepare the grounds for the conference and ensure its success. Billboards stressing the importance of the Independence Constitution of 1952 have been installed in the city.

The Chairman of the General Electricity Company, Abdul-Majeed Hamza, held a meeting with the Director General of the Korean Hyundai Company to discuss the work that have been achieved to date on the west Tripoli steam power plant project, which was entrusted to the Korean company. Hyundai agreed on preparing a detailed report of the work accomplished within a period of ten days.

The Media Center of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous has pledged to unfold the details of the biggest robbery in the history of Libya in which millions of dinars and foreign currencies were stolen while being transferred from the Central Bank of Libya to its branch in Sirte. A cash-in-transit van was robbed in October 2013 by gunmen belonging to extremist groups who got their hands on about 53 million Libyan dinars, in addition to another 12 million of foreign currency.

The Ministry of Education in Tripoli has called on teachers to end their strike and return to classes. A committee tasked by the Ministry to negotiate with the strikers promised to communicate with the concerned government authorities to implement the teachers' demands on improving salaries and to include them in the health insurance service. The Teachers' Union called for a general strike of teachers throughout Libya on October 15, the date set by the Ministry to start the new school year in the country.

The Libyan Olympic Committee announced that it will issue a statement to recognize the right of the board of the Libyan Federation of Table Tennis, headed by Mohammed Abu Saif, to return to his position according to the letter of the International Federation of the game.  On its website The Committee confirmed Saturday, that the President of the Olympic Committee Jamal Zrouq will issue a resolution to dissolve the Steering Committee and restore the Union-elect to continue in carrying out his duties.

Military officers from the city of Zawiya have agreed to unify all military forces and form a joint security room to secure the city and activate the security checkpoints. During their meeting on Sunday at the House of Culture, the officers refused what they described fueling the fire in the city and dragging its sons to wars by some parties, calling on civil society institutions to play its part in defusing the situation in the city. Earlier, officers of the Libyan Armed Forces in Zawiya issued a statement declaring that the military establishment is one unit away from the political strife.

The implementation and management of the Man-Made River said on Sunday that the responsibility for providing protection for the project falls upon state authorities. On its Facebook page, it called on all Libyan people to issue a code of ethics to neutralize such essential service from potential tensions and partisan claims. It also explained that their inability to return the water supply after accomplishing maintenance work was for reasons beyond their control, demanding official authorities to face their responsibilities in order to enable them to resume their work.
