Residents of Sirte, whose homes were damaged in the war against ISIS, protested on Sunday demanding the government to shoulder its responsibilities and to expedite the compensation of those affected. The protesters demanded financial assistance to help the affected families cope with the economic crisis in the country. At the same time, the protesters denounced the silence of the MPs of city in the House of Representatives on this issue, accusing them of failing to discharge their responsibilities.

The head of the High National Election Commission (HNEC), Imad Sayeh, has declared in a press statement that the states interested in the stability and security of Libya should support the United Nations Development Program; so that its teams can support the transitional phase in the country.  Sayeh explained that part of the support provided to the United Nations by some countries is to consolidate the electoral process in order to establish free and fair elections that would ensure a peaceful transfer of power, in addition to investing in the provision of specialists and experts in the electoral process.

A discussion was held on Sunday between the Chairman of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj and head of European Union Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM Libya) Vincenzo Tagliaferri on security and border management issues in Libya. The EU official explained that what has been achieved so far is an exclusively Libyan work, indicating that considerable work is still to be done, which might require more time by virtue of Libya's vast territory and terrain. He also stressed the importance of continuing coordination between the Libyan and European teams on the illegal migration issue.

The Security Directorate of Al-Bawanis town, south Libya, has proceeded in securing the main road linking Sabha and Jufra and the connecting roads to the three towns of Samnu, Zegan and Teminhint. The official page of Al-Bawanis Municipality clarified on Sunday that security forces were deployed in the streets in addition to checkpoints at the town borders to guarantee peace and stability in the region. The step comes within the framework of the Security Directorate's efforts to reduce theft and looting, and to extend security in the municipality, according to the page.

The Minister of State for Displaced People’s Affairs, Yousuf Jalal, discussed on Sunday with the Director of the Libyan Humanitarian Relief Agency (LIBAID) - Tripoli Branch, Khalid Al-Marghani, the mechanism of distributing humanitarian aid to those in need. The Media Office of the Presidential Council reported that the meeting looked into how to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to the beneficiaries in all regions of Libya, adding that the distribution process will be in coordination with the branches of the LIBAID in the municipalities after receiving assistance from international donors that will be delivered to civil society organizations and institutions for distribution.

The National Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Ministry of Health celebrated on Sunday the World Diabetes Day. The event was attended by several specialized doctors in this field from various cities of Libya, academics and other interested stakeholders. It was sponsored by a group of pharmaceutical companies. The scientific session of the event dealt with four axes in the strategies of treating diabetes, which included, health education and diabetes, women and diabetes, and methods of treatment of diabetes, besides research papers and a presentation of the medical system of the National Center for Diabetes.

Al-Bonyan Al-Marsous Operation in Sirte managed on Sunday to dismantle a landmine planted under the communication cables of the Commerce and Development Bank. According to the media office of the Al-Bonyan Al-Marsous, the Bureau of Communication Services in Sirte reported to the demining team of Al-Bonyan Al-Marsous a landmine in the telephone line routes. The media office confirmed that the demining team quickly responded to the report and succeeded in dismantling the landmine. Earlier, Sirte Mayor, Mukhtar al-Maadani, demanded to increase the number of teams working in the disposal of remnants of war in Sirte.
