A local source in Benghazi confirmed the abduction of the manager of the Al-Rahila Oil Services Company, Faraj Al-Abdali, by gunmen from so-called Battalion 106, led by Khalid Khalifa Haftar. According to the source, Al-Abdali was taken from the headquarters of the company to an unknown destination, clarifying that his abduction might be linked to his intention to stand as a candidate in the upcoming elections. Al-Abdali is the cousin of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior of the Presidential Council, Faraj Qaiem, and was among the persons who demanded Haftar to release him.

A shipment of medical aid was handed over Sunday to several health and education sectors in Sirte. A local official said that the shipment was delivered by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council. The shipment included health facilities and educational school materials, in addition to cleaning and sterilization equipment. The source pointed out that several international organizations have pledged to provide assistance to areas suffering from health crises in Libya.

The administration of Al-Hasawneh water system of the Man-made River in the southern region has confirmed that unknown persons attacked one of the water wells and removed a power transformer of the well (221) in line (F2) and stole the amount of copper inside. The administration explained that the power transformer is considered as one of the crucial parts of the well, and without it, it will be out of service, noting that there are 16 other wells which have been vandalized or looted. It also added via its Facebook page that the well will be unavailable for a period of time due to the lack of spare parts needed for the maintenance process.

The Ukrainian Embassy in Tunisia announced on Sunday the release of one of its nationals who was abducted two days ago in the city of Sabha in the southern region. On its website, the embassy said that the released citizen works as a doctor in private clinic in Sabha and was abducted by an armed group, without revealing information about their identity. The release of the doctor came after an agreement reached by Ukrainian diplomats during negotiations with the dignitaries of the city, according to the embassy. The Ukrainian Embassy called on all its citizens in Libya to leave the country immediately due to the difficulty of settling such issues diplomatically in the current circumstances in which Libya is going through.

The Administrative Control Authority (ACA) unveiled on Sunday financial irregularities of more than 17 million dollars in the administrative city project in the Malian capital of Bamako, one of the Libyan state investments in the African continent. The Director of the Information Office of the ACA, Ayman Al-Gladi, said that the Presidential Council will issue a decision to provide the return of the amount mentioned to the Libyan national treasury, pointing out that the authority addressed the Ministry of Finance to take the necessary procedures in order to recover the project balances to the general revenue account of the Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli. He added that the ACA urged the Central Bank of Libya not to dispose these balances until receiving instructions from the Ministry of Finance to refer them to the general revenue account.

The pre-operational tests of the first turbine at the Gulf Power Plant in Sirte started on Sunday after six months of suspension due to a fire in one of the main cables of the plant. An official from the General Electricity Company said that the first turbine will be linked to the public grid in the next few hours with a capacity of more than 160 megawatts, after the completion of the maintenance work. He stressed that the step will contribute in reducing the number of power outage hours in several cities and regions of Libya.

The Brega Oil Marketing Company confirmed the availability of fuel in the southern depots. On its Facebook page, the company explained that the deterioration of security conditions in areas of Jafra and the south forced the transport operators to stop providing fuel to the southern stations. The company pointed out that the National Oil Corporation addressed the Presidential Council several times to set up a secure corridor in order to ensure the flow of fuel supplies to the south region.

The coordinator of Derna People Gathering, Adel Al-Barasi, said that all neighborhoods of the city will soon suffer water cuts due to the lack of diesel fuel stock in the steam desalination plant. On his Facebook page, Al-Barasi clarified that Haftar's forces are committing a crime against humanity in Derna by besieging the city for more than twenty months. He pointed out that the forces have denied entry of fuel allocated to the desalination plant, which will lead to power outages and interruption of pumping water to all parts of the city.
