The Ministry of Transport has condemned the missile attack on Tripoli port saying "it is a war crime".

"The ongoing attacks by the aggressors against the capital are part of their agenda to destroy infrastructure, including air and sea ports, as well as other civilian sites. Such attacks constitute war crimes," the ministry said in a statement Tuesday.

According to the ministry, the bombing resulted in the destruction and burning of a number of containers loaded with goods supplied by businessmen to the Libyan market, including foodstuffs and various commodities.

The exact cost of the damage will be revealed later after concluding investigations, the ministry explained.
