The Ministry of Interior has established during the last period the Election Security and Protection Department of the General Directorate of Security Operations.
The ministry said that the new organ will be assigned to generate and implement plans for transporting and securing electoral materials and the protection of polling stations, in cooperation with the competent authorities, and coordination with all organs and security departments.
