The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it was examining the possibility of transporting stranded Libyan citizens in Asia and the Gulf countries back to Libya via Turkey.

The Ministry stated in a publication, that the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mahmoud Al-Tilisi, discussed the matter with the Turkish Ambassador, Serhat Aksen, with a view to facilitating procedures for transporting stranded Libyans from Asia and the Gulf countries through Ankara.

This arrangement would mean that those Libyans landing in Ankara would then be quarantined for a set period of time, prior to returning to their homeland.

Both Al-Tilisi and Aksen touched on bilateral relations between the two countries and the ways and means of strengthening them, according to the Ministry’s official Facebook page.
